“Lion”
Ecco brevi note di review del film “Lion” scritte in inglese dai ragazzi della 2^E del Liceo Europeo degli Angeli, presenti alla proiezione del film lo scorso 6 febbraio,
The tear jerking story of a boy lost in a world that he doesn’t know is an amazing example of determination and courage and it has reminded me of the importance of hope. – Aurora
Sue and her braveness really impressed us. The choice to adopt Saroo and Guddu and save them from a poor and dangerous life instead of having her own kids can definitely be considered the definition of an amazing and unselfish gesture. – Victoria, Dalila and Mathias
A movie that touches the soul of anybody that is watching according to the experience of their life. Each one could be struck by a particular detail of the story but in the end everybody is overwhelmed by the overall moving message of happiness and hope. – Beatrice
Moving. I was very impressed: when Saroo started to remember his old family, he kept searching for the place where he had lived as a child. He left his new life in Australia to take back the life in India, just to say he was alive and safe. – Giorgia
We admire Saroo’s biological mother, who never gave up and always hoped and believed that her son was still alive. She was very brave and strong also when she met her son’s new parents.
This film was a tear jerker: Saroo was the sweetest and cutest boy that we had ever seen and who was able to face his difficulties notwithstanding his young age and he was able to go on despite the obstacles of his past. – Vittoria and Claudia
The research of his roots, the memory of his family. A simple story that invites to a deeper reflection.- Alice and Sofia
A mum will never stop searching for her son and lose hope, even if he isn’t in her life anymore. – Francesca
Life is a journey. There are people who live for some time with no obstacles and there are people whose roads are as tormented as Saroo’s one. A lost boy whose eyes narrate events which make you feel hopeless, but whose heart shows a courage which reflects his name: “Lion”. – Francesco
I will always keep with me the image of the adoptive parents’ loving arms ready to hold the tiny, fragile body of one of the sweetest and hearts melter little boy of the entire India. – Alice
Outstanding the sweethearts of Sue and John, two people who decided to change their lives, by choosing not to have their own children, for saving others people lives.
I hope that those brown, scared, innocent eyes, could become the symbol of all the children in the world that are suffering on account of adults’ choices and mistakes, just because they were born in the wrong side of the world.- Gaia
The unexpectedness of life reflected by two deep, candid, brown eyes, which watch a world too big for them. –Giulia and Esther
The authentic and genuine sensitivity of the adopted mother touched our hearts. Her life choices should inspire people who want to give a chance to the unluckiest.
Saroo’s endless determination and blind hope led him back to his forgotten childhood, a completely different world. – Elisa and Gaia
We think that the film “Lion” gives an extraordinary message about the family, whether biological or not. The act of love that the parents have accomplished is an imaginable thing for us. In fact despite the fact that they had the possibility to have children, they decided to adopt Saroo and Mantosh. The parents Sue and John brought them up with all the love and care that two children deserve. A few people are able to love unconditionally as Sue and John do, but it these types of people who can change the world. Only with love. – Sofia and Jacopo
